May/June catch up.
Since returning from Corfu the weather in Cumbria has been very mixed - from mini heatwave to cool, 'breezy' and wet. We've managed to get out quite a bit to walk and cycle and I've been climbing a few times. The following is a quick summary of these activities.
Hill walking:
22 May evening ascent of Rannerdale Knotts:
3 June - a Coledale round on a stunning day !!!!
11 June - a Sale Fell - Ling Fell link up on a breezy day.
12 June - Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks from Buttermere on another breezy day.
17 June - Quick ascent of Latrigg during the mini heatwave and after our curtailed cycle around the Back O' Skiddaw.
24 June - a ramble over High Rigg.
Cycling:
28 May - Symington to Peebles and back after a Cocoa Black treat.
29 May - up the glens from Symington (Culter and Cow Gill)
4 June - Circuit from home to Keswick via Whinlatter Pass on a stunning day.
17 June - Our curtailed Back O' Skiddaw ride during the mini heatwave - Susan's front mech broke after 13 miles so we had turn back.
25 June - a circuit into the Lakes from home.
26 June - a circuit of Skiddaw and Blencathra from Keswick.
Climbing:
14 June - Bowderstone Pinnacle Direct, Borrowdale with Jeff.
22 June - 4 quality routes on South Crag, Castle Rock with Jeff and Pete
We've also had a few rides to Whitehaven (some were Susan's Cycle to work) and numerous evening wanders down to the coast. The sea air is always good.
