Christmas Storms.
Susan took two days off before Christmas Eve giving us 6 days to enjoy the festivities and try and get out into the hills.
On the Thursday we stayed in Cumbria but strong winds kept us off the higher fells. Instead we drove down Borrowdale and climbed King's How and Brund Fell. It was overcast but largely dry and we got some good views.
Friday morning saw us driving north to Symington as Storm Barbara swept in. Heavy rain and gales put an end to any thoughts of 'getting on the hill' so we settled for walks around the village and enjoying Christmas Eve and Day.
Boxing Day followed a similar pattern thanks to the next named storm - Conor. Not as much rain fell but the winds were even stronger and there was a wee bit of hill snow. We again stayed low and enjoyed more festive 'treats'.
On Tuesday we took another walk down to the Clyde before driving down the road to Cumbria. A very good Christmas but here's hoping for better weather over the New Year break.
