Bank Holiday.

On Friday evening we had a wander down to the coast. It was bright, breezy and invigorating. We were up early on Saturday to drive  to Glasgow to visit Ross. It was then down to Dumfries to see Susan's Mum and give her belated Birthday presents before driving home on Sunday evening.

Bright evening on the Cumbrian coast.

Breezy.

A 99 treat.

Solitude.

For a change Bank Holiday Monday was dry and bright - ideal for a walk on the fells. We stayed local and got up early to avoid the crowds. Parking on the shore of Crummock Water we headed up Whiteside and then traversed over Hopegill Head, Grasmoor and Whiteless Pike before descending down lovely Rannerdale. We didn't meet many people and the views were excellent.

Lovely Rannerdale.

The Rowan are heavy with berries - a bad winter to come?
