Sharp Edge, Blencathra.
It's been too long since my last ascent of Sharp Edge - the classic grade 1 scramble on Blencathra. As the weather forecast was good for yesterday morning I went for it. Parking below Mousthwaite Cove I firstly climbed to Scales Tarn. The weather was as good as promised but there was a strong breeze. I, however, decided that it was not strong enough to pose a problem on the ridge and after a quick drink headed up. I soon passed a party of 3, who later turned back, and then took the best line across the top of the edge. As always the scrambling was over too quickly and I was soon on Atkinson Pike taking in the extensive views before heading to the top of Blencathra. There were a number of people on the summit and I met several groups on the descent down Scales Fell. An excellent wee mornings round.
