On low Lakeland Fells.
Susan's back was no worse after yesterdays wander on the higher fells and she was keen to test it out again today. We, however, decided to stay a bit lower and headed for the Fellbarrow range above Loweswater. This compact group gives an excellent wee round with great views of Buttermere and the west Cumbrian lowlands.
It was a pleasant morning with some bright spells but it was still cold in an east wind. The higher fells were cloud covered but there were still great views. We heard our first Skylarks of the year and even a Woodpecker as we dropped back down to the car. We saw no one else - so much for the crowded Lake District.
