Autumn wind and rain.

The weather has been very autumnal over the last two weeks with some fine days but also lots of wind and rain. Last Wednesday was one of the fine days so Jeff, Pete and I headed up to the South Crag of Castle Rock to get a final after work climb in. Unfortunately, on unpacking my rucksack at the foot of the crag, I discovered that I'd left my rock boots at home so I just had to sit and watch the 'old boys' do Kleine Rinne VS (4b) again, before we headed to Keswick for chips and a beer.

Jeff following on.

Today was a wet and windy one. With gusts of over 60mph forecast, along with heavy showers, we decided to stay low. We parked in Keswick and did a 10.5mile loop along the cycle track, up to the Blencathra Centre, up the Glenderatera valley, over Latrigg and back down into Keswick. There were a few heavy showers and the gusts of wind on Latrigg confirmed that we'd made the right decision to stay low.
The day was rounded off with a superb lunch in Abrahams Cafe in Fishers.
