Shorter days.

The nights are drawing in making it harder to get out in the evenings but Jeff, Pete and I did manage to get one climb in on Wednesday night. I left work as soon as possible to meet up with the 'old boys' and we headed to Shepherds Crag, Borrowdale. It was nearly 5pm before we'd geared up at the foot of Ardus [MVS 4a 4a 4b] and we realised that this would be the only route of the night. Seven years ago this route was one of our warm ups but after so long it felt much harder. It is a classic with 3 varied pitches and a great final thin traverse which had Pete swearing.
By the time we'd walked off and got back to the car it was dark so there won't be many more nights before we'll have to make do with the new wall in Keswick.

Pete about to start the final crack - the air was 'blue'.

Tonight we had a walk down to the harbour and watched the sun set. It was only 7pm!!!
