Gable.

We woke to a driech morning as forecast and had a wee lie in before heading to Keswick. We had a wander around the town and went to Abraham's Cafe in Fishers for a scone to allow  the weather to improve. Thankfully it did so we decided to head down the re-opened Borrowdale Road to climb Green and Great Gable.

The parking area at Seathwaite wasn't too busy and we were soon heading off up into Gillercomb for the first top. We passed two groups on route and as we climbed the weather got better and better. We had a brief stop on Green Gable for a drink but the cool wind kept us moving and we were soon on Great Gable. The Fell and Rock Memorial which has been missing on our last few visits has now been restored and looks much better.

As there were a few people on the summit we wandered off to Robinson's Cairn for lunch and the view down Wasdale.

The descent to Styhead was amazingly quiet - we passed no one!!! At the stretcher box we had another piece of cake and a drink and then descended to Seathwaite - on this leg we saw only one other couple.
