Storm force winds.

With storm force winds forecast we stuck to a couple of low Lakeland fells today - King's Howe and Brund Fell. As we left the Bowderstone Car Park light rain started to fall and this later turned to wet snow. The steep climb up King's Howe was out of the wind but as soon as we reached the summit it was clear that the forecast was correct. At times it was hard going, especially when wind driven snow hit you in the eye, but it was still good to be out. Not surprisingly we only saw one other couple on the hill.

A 'hoods up' day on the hill.
