Poor weather continues in Scotland.

We've had a few days in Symington but the weather has again been dominated by areas of low pressure.
On Wednesday we had a good day out in the Border Hills with Ross. We parked n Drumelzier and headed first up Pykestone Hill. We made good time despite some wet snow near the summit and there was some atmospheric light  as the sun tried to break through the cloud.
As we had plenty of time we headed out to Dollar Law a hill we've not climbed for some time. Wet snow made the ascent hard work but it made for a good fast descent on route to Drumelzier Law. On this leg I got a very wet foot when I stepped into a bog hidden by the snow and this made for an uncomfortable couple of miles back to the car.

Pykestone Hill summit - a first for Ross.

Brighter weather on the Thief's Road heading for Dollar Law.

More wet snow near the summit.

Another first for Ross - Dollar Law summit.

Almost back in Drumelzier after an excellent wee round.

On Thursday we decided on a city day and headed into Edinburgh by bus. We had an excellent wander around the 'New Town' area before returning to Princes Street and the Royal Mile.

Today was another windy affair so we just headed for a quick blast up Tinto. This is Symington's hill and is always worth a wander up. It's accessibility makes it very popular and it feels more like a busy Lakeland Fell than a lonely Border hill.

Sheltering from the wind just below Tinto summit.

Clearing skies on the descent.

Looking back up Tinto.
