More Low pressure.
The stormy winter continues. Today we woke to strong winds, low dark clouds and rain. We were not inspired to get up and leave the house.
Fortunately by mid-day the rain had eased and the sky had brightened so we took a wander down to the coast. The tide was out so we walked along the shore watching the waves driven in by the strong westerly wind.

A breezy day at the coast.
Yesterday was a similar day but the best weather was in the morning encouraging us out for a wander on the fells. The strong wind put us off going high so we settled for Barrow, Stile End and Outerside and Braithwaite.
Heading up the NE ridge of Barrow was hard work as the wind got stronger and showers swept in from the west. We did, however, get some good views which made the effort worthwhile. Stile End and Outerside were even windier and at times we were both blown sideways. Our decision not to go high had been a good one and the onset of heavy rain as we started to descend confirmed this. By the time we reached the car we were soaked so a visit to Abraham's Cafe in Fishers was a must.
The outlook remains stormy. Oh for some high pressure!
