Bitter wind.

More storm force winds were forecast for today so we again decided on a later start than normal and a low level route. We chose to link Sale Fell and Ling Fell as we knew access would be easy from a snow free A66. There were no cars parked when we arrived below Sale Fell and we saw few people on the hill. Visibility was much better than yesterday but the wind was strong even on these low tops and the wind chill high. We certainly didn't wish we'd gone higher or taken the bikes out for a spin. The weather must be due to change soon.

A short break - Ling Fell in the background.

Descending towards Ling Fell.

Very good visibility on route to Ling Fell.

A breezy summit with snowy fells beyond.
