A low Lakeland Fell.
We've both been full of cold since mid-week so didn't have the energy to do much today. We did, however, want some fresh air so headed for Borrowdale to have a wander over a couple of low Lakeland Fells - King's How and Brund Fell. It was overcast and windy as we left the Bowderstone Car Park and before long a shower had us putting waterproofs on. We both felt light headed as we climbed steeply up the initial slopes of King's How but this soon passed and the remainder of the walk felt quite easy despite the showers and a fresh wind.
The autumn colours still have some way to go but it won't be long before the trees lose their leaves and the first snows fall on the higher tops. The Outdoor Shops in Keswick are full of winter gear and we're beginning to look forward to the season. Let's hope it's better than the summer.
