Goodbye Roomster.

After 3 years we've decided to trade in the Skoda Roomster for something a wee bit bigger for our camping road trips - we need more and more creature comforts these days.
The Roomster has been very reliable and economical and we've had several very good trips north in her. With the back seats removed we've squeezed in lots of gear and several people have been impressed by this on campsites. One disadvantage has been the height of the car which makes loading bikes onto the roof more difficult. We had a scary moment on the Edinburgh By-pass last Easter when for some unknown reason my mountain bike flew off the rack. Fortunately the only damage done was to the bike..
We've gone for another Skoda (my third) but this time an Octavia Estate. Let's hope that this is just as reliable and that we have many great trips in the coming years.

Fully loaded on it's first Highland Road Trip - August 2009.

In Mallaig - August 2009.

Loading up the bikes - Milehouse Hut, Cairngorms - 2010.

Symington - Easter 2010.

Glenmore Campsite, Cairngorms - June 2010.

Gairloch Campsite, NW Scotland - June 2012.
