Eastern Fells.
We headed out early yesterday to meet 4 fellow members of the ATMC (Ian, Gavin, Ann and Liz) at Brotherswater Bunkhouse. It was a promising morning when we arrived and they wanted to do a longish route. We started by climbing a lovely ridge up on to High Hartsop Dodd and Little Hart Crag. From here the views were good and we chose to head SE to Red Screes a good vantage point. After a quick snack we then doubled back and the weather changed. The cloud base started to drop, the wind picked up and for the remainder of the walk snow and rain showers came and went. Our next top was Dove Crag followed by Hart Crag and Fairfield. Here we found some shelter from the cool wind and had some more food whilst deciding where to go next. Gavin, as always, wanted to go a little bit further so I led us down and over Cofa Pike to Deepdale Hause. Here Ian had gone far enough and had a painful thigh, so Susan and I dropped into Deepdale with him for the 5 mile walk back to the Bunkhouse. The others carried on over St. Sunday Crag before descending into the same valley and joining us back at Brotherswater for a 'brew' and a chat. A good day out despite the disappointing weather and a good chance to catch up with ATMC news.

Gavin (wrapped up against the cold) and Ann dropping off Fairfield.
The team head for Cofa Pike.
Today we had a wee cycle from home following our 22 mile after work ride. It was overcast, damp at times and breezy. As always the effort to get out was worthwhile and we aim to ride more in the coming months.
