Short wander.

Susan's car was in for it's MOT this morning in Cockermouth so we spent an enjoyable morning browsing around the town. It was then into the Lakes for a wee wander up Blencathra. All the popular parking spots off the A66 were full but we managed to squeeze into one and then headed up onto Scales Fell. At the top of Mousthwaite Comb we dropped into the Glenderamackin valley and then climbed up to the col between Blencathra and Bannerdale Crags. Cloud swirled around the top of Sharp Edge so we chose to bag Bannerdale Crags first. The summit was clear and the view down Bannerdale excellent. As we headed for Blencathra all the northern fells were in sunshine but it's summit cloud wasn't moving. On reaching the top there was a brief break in the cloud but we soon decided to drop back to the car via Scales Fell ridge. A good day out was rounded off with tea and scones in Fishers Cafe.
