A good cycle to end the week.

I came down with some sort of bug on Wednesday evening so we haven't done a great deal this week. I felt a little better on Saturday morning but decided to have a rest while Susan went out for a short ride. In the afternoon we went to Keswick and had a wee wander up Latrigg to see if I was fit enough to try getting out on Sunday. It was a bright afternoon but very windy and for once I forgot my camera. The fitness was fine.
Today we chose to ride from home and headed out on a favourite loop to Buttermere and back. It was again quite windy but there were some great sunny spells and the views were excellent. We went beyond the village to the foot of the steep climb up Honistor Pass which we decided to leave for another day. We couldn't go back through the village without stopping for a drink and a tray bake in the wee cafe. A very good end to the week. Cycling from home is becoming a favourite way to spend Sunday.

Cycling into Buttermere.

Heading along the shore of Buttermere towards Gatesgarth.

Dropping down Honister Pass back to Buttermere and the Cafe.

Mellbreak from the shore of Crummock Water.

Great cycling along Crummock Water.

Leaving the fells - heading for home.

A great day on the bike.
