Sharp Edge and a wee cycle.

Summer arrived in Cumbria today but unfortunately Susan had to go back to her work so I had to go for a wander on my own. I chose Blencathra via Sharp Edge as I've not done this old favourite for a while and it doesn't take too long. The parking places along the A66 were all full but I managed to squeeze into the one at the foot of Mousthwaite Comb. It was much warmer than of late and I had a short break with my shoes off at Scales Tarn before tackling the ridge. There were several parties on it and several were not very confident. It was good to move quickly past them and then on to Foule Crag where I had my lunch chatting to a walker from Whitehaven. The summit of Blencathra was very busy so I headed straight down Scales Fell to the car.

The weather improved as the day went on and when Susan got home it was too good to sit in for the evening so we headed out on the bikes following our after work route. It was great to be out with no wind and some warmth in the air. Let's hope this is the start of summer.
