Buttermere cycle.

The clocks sprang forward last night so we had a late start this morning. After yesterdays long day on the hill we fancied a cycle so headed off from home to Buttermere. It was cool and a little overcast to begin with but by the time we reached the village the sun was out and we were happy to sit outside eating our smoked salmon rolls. Our route took us over the new Lorton Bridge for the first time. It was destroyed in the November 2009 floods and has had a complete rebuild. A house alongside it is still being repaired.
Spring has definitely arrived in the Lakes with lambs in the fields and daffodils in the roadside verges. Fingers crossed for a good summer.

Spring - cycling home along the shore of Crummock Water.

Which way? -  In Lorton on the way home.

Cycling at it's best - a quiet back road in the sunshine.
