A strange weekend.

Susan picked up a chest infection last week and hasn't been well enough to go out on the hill this weekend. Yesterday we had a pleasant leisurely day shopping in Workington, Cockermouth and Keswick. It was very cold and mainly grey and cloudy - although there was a red sky on the way home.

Today I went out for another wander on Blencathra and Bannerdale Crags reversing the route I did last Tuesday. It was a much better day with lots of sunny spells although cloud came in at one point. This did, however, allow me to see a good Brocken Spectre. More snow has fallen since Tuesday and the going was hard in places due to deep drifts. There were quite a few people out but mainly on Blencathra and by heading out early I avoided most of the crowds.
WIth low temperatures forecast for this week the Fells will remain white for some time. Hopefully Susan will be better next weekend so that we can get back out together.
