Short walk.

The forecast suggested a wet start to the day and it was raining as we left home after a Sunday lie in. There was little improvement as we headed into the Lakes so we decided on a short walk over Barrow, Stile End and Outerside above Little Brathwaite.
We set off in light rain and low cloud but before we reached the summit of Barrow the rain stopped and the cloud lifted giving some very atmospheric views over the Derwent Water Fells and Skiddaw. The cloud and rain drifted in and out for the rest of the walk but we thoroughly enjoyed a fine wee outing in the fells - which were very quiet.

Heading up Barrow.

Clearing views over Derwent Water.

 Clearing clouds over Outerside.

Catbells from Barrow.

Descending from Outerside.

We rounded the walk off with cake and tea in Keswick followed by a wander around the shops. These too were quiet.
