Changeable weather.
There has been a lot of wet and windy weather in Cumbria since we ruturned from the highlands. I managed to get out on Thursday morning for a quick walk up Blake Fell but Friday was a wash out.
Today we headed out under bright skies with no particular route in mind. The fells were cloud covered as we headed east and by Keswick it was raining heavily. We decided that heading a bit further east might be the best bet so headed for Mungrisdale. The car park was almost empty and we were soon heading for the east ridge of Bannerdale Crags. The autumn colours were superb whenever the sky brightened and we were pleased with our choice of hill. From the summit we headed for Bowscale Fell and had lunch overlooking it's north corrie and tarn.
The weather changed at this point and we descended with frequent showers sweeping across the hill. These did not detract from another excellent Lakeland outing.
