An Teallach Lakes Meet
We had a e-mail on Thursday from two fellow An Teallach Mountaineering Club members, Ann and Ian, asking if we fancied meeting up for a walk in the Lakes on Saturday. As we haven't been on a club meet since April we jumped at the chance to catch up.
We met in Stonethwaite, Borrowdale and headed up Langstrath valley for Angle Tarn. There was one light shower on the way up but generally the weather was better than forecast and the valley was desserted. This changed as we reached the tarn and joined the main path from Langdale to Scafell Pike. Ann wasn't feeling too good at this point so we decided to change our planned route and headed to Esk Hause. From here it was up to Allen Crags and then onto Glaramara before we dropped back down to Borrowdale and the cars. There were great views all round and it was good to catch up with 'club news' as we wandered.
The fells are beginning to take on their autumn colour and at times their was a definite nip in the air so winter is on it's way. As we headed home we vowed to try and get up to a meet in Scotland before the end of the year.
