A favourite cycle.

On the road to Buttermere.

We decided to do one of our favourite cycles from home today to Buttermere. The roads aren't too busy, the views are good and the tray bakes in the wee Cafe in the village excellent.

Even the local birds enjoy the tray bakes.

We still can't follow the best route because the bridge in Lorton which was washed away in the November floods is still down. It looks as if it will be a while before it's rebuilt and the C2C cycle route has had to be redirected.
It stayed dry all day and only the higher fells remained cloud covered so we were rewarded for our efforts with good views as well as a tray bake.

Riding alongside Crummock Water on the way home.

Some of the backroads see little traffic.
