A day in the city.

After another windy and at times wet cycle yesterday we decided on a trip to Edinburgh today. We caught the 8.45am bus from Biggar and as we headed east it was clear that we were in for some better weather. We got off  the bus at Bruntsfield before reaching the city centre and headed for Hollyrood Park and Aurthur's Seat (251m) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur's_Seat,_Edinburgh .There were lots of people out enjoying the sunshine and the views over the city were excellent. Although it's not a high hill Aurthur's Seat is steep and you certainly don't feel that you are in a city as you scramble up towards the summit.
We descended along a lovely little ridge north towards Hollyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament. The rest of the day was spent in the city centre which was busy with shoppers and tourists.
A different and very enjoyable day out.

Climbing up from Salisbury Crags.
