Another year older.

It's been another wet and windy week in Cumbria. We managed a dry cycle on Monday but that's it. On Wednesday Susan's horse riding came to an early end when thunder and lightening spooked her horse Ruby and I got wet on a short cycle. Thursday was St. Swithen's Day and my birthday and again it rained. This does not bode well as there is a weather-rhyme well known since Elizabethan times which goes:

'St. Swithin's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithin's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mair.'

My 'wee' Birthday cake from Susan.

Last night was very wet and windy and I didn't have much hope of doing anything today. However, by lunchtime in brightened up and I headed out for a ride. It was still very windy and there were many tree branches down but it was still enjoyable. The last 5 miles were wet!!!!!!!!
