A hot 'yan'!!

It's been a hot day in Cumbria but a stiff breeze made things much more bearable on the fells. The heat caused a haze so the views were not as clear as they have been of late. We stayed pretty local today heading for Buttermere and a wander along the Red Pike, High Stile, High Crag and Haystacks ridge. There were a few people about but this didn't detract from the excellent walk along this super little route.
As we descended down the side Warnscale Beck the temperatures rose and we couldn't resist dipping our feet in one of a number of fantastically clear pools. The ice cream on sale at Gatesgarth also proved too tempting before the final walk along the lake shore back to the car.
Another excellent day in what has been a great start to the summer. Long may it continue!!!!!!!!

Having a rest before the final loose ascent of Red Pike.

Looking to Crummock Water from the High Stile ridge.

Scrambling on Haystacks.
