More dry weather.
It's been another dry week in Cumbria but it's also been cool and breezy. We got out after work on Friday and had a great walk on the fells above Whinlatter Pass. We headed first up Ladyside Pike and then went onto Hopegill Head and Grisedale Pike before dropping back down to the car. The sky was milky but there was good visibility into the fells. We only saw a lone fell runner as we dropped off Hopegill Head.

Today we headed down Borrowdale and parked at Seatoller. With no definite route in mind we headed up Bessyboot first and then wandered over the lovely Rosthwaite Fell to Glaramara. It was warmer than of late but the wind cooled things down whenever we were exposed to it. The views were good but limited by haze.
As it was still early we decided to carry on to Allen Crags. Snow still lingers in places on the higher fells such as Great End, Bowfell and Scafell Pike. From Esk Hause we started to meet the crowds going up and down Englands highest which was quite a contrast to the quiet fells we'd just come over. Bags of large stones lined the path to the top of Grains Gill ready for the summer repairs.
It was a long descent back to the car but an ice cream at the end tasted great.
