Two very different days.
Yesterday was another fantastic day on the hill with clear skies and distant views. We wanted to explore a different little area of the Lakes so parked at the foot of Rigg Beck on the road to Newlands Hause. From here we walked up Rigg Beck to the col between Ard Crags and Sail. The valley showed clear signs of flood damage from the December storms but was beautiful in the early morning sun. From the col we climbed Ard Crags and then Knott Rigg before dropping back to the col. The weather was spring like but at times a cool breeze reminded us that it was still winter.
The next leg of the route took us up onto Sail and then Eel Crag. There were several patches of old snow on the ridge and the summit of Eel Crag was very icy. The distant views were excellent. To finish the day we dropped back to Sail and then continued to Causey Pike before descending directly to the car.

Heading for Causey Pike the last top of the day.
Today was overcast. cold and at times wet. We had a morning bike ride on the local roads which was enjoyable despite the conditions and cold feet. We're looking forward to warmer days and longer rides.
