Floods hit west Cumbria.
On Thursday night west Cumbria was hit by severe flooding after the highest daily rainfall recorded in the UK (314mm at Seathwaite in Borrowdale). Cockermouth Main Street turned into a fast flowing river and bridges in Workington collapsed.
Friday was a drier day and, as we were both off work due to the floods, we wandered down to Harrington Harbour. Today is again wet and windy and as many roads are still closed due to the flooding we've stayed at home.
