Weekend visitor and new bike.

My Mum's been visiting this weekend and Susan has taken delivery of a new bike bought through the NHS Cycle to work scheme. We went to Scotby Cycles in Carlisle early on Saturday morning to pick the bike up and then headed to Keswick for a walk. After tea in Fishers Cafe we took the path up Borrowdale. At Great Wood we dropped down to the shore of Derwent Water and followed it to Kettlewell Car Park. The views across the lake on a bright Autumn day were excellent. We continued along the road to Grange bridge where we had a 10 minute wait for the bus back to Keswick. After a wander around the shops we headed home so that Susan could give the new bike a spin.

Views around Derwent Water.

Today has been very grey and damp but we did manage to get out for a 20 mile ride on the local backroads this morning. Susan loves the new Specialised Tricross Sport bike and it was good to get out locally for the first time in two weeks.

Cows delay progress on the new Tricross.

Taking a break on the new bike.
