Dumfries Weekend.

The generally good weather has continued this week and it's been quite frustrating looking at the sunlit fells from work. We've managed a few evening runs but Susan has picked up a chest infection which makes doing much very difficult. We went to see her Mum in Dumfries this weekend and had planned to do some mountain biking in Mabie Forest. We, however, decided that this would slow down her recovery and gave it a miss.
We did go for a ride on Saturday to Caerlaverock Castle and National Nature Reserve on the Solway Coast. Our route took us out of Dumfries along National Cycle Route 7 and was a mixture of Cycle Path and quiet roads. At the nature reserve we did manage a bit of off road riding including one section on boardwalks through tall reed beds. The round was a gentle 25 miles and was just what we needed to give us some fresh air, exercise and wonderful views.

High pressure is forecast for the week ahead. Why wasn't the summer like this?
