Autumn Ride.
As the nights draw in we've had to stop after work rides for the year - always a sign that summer has ended. We have done a few late evening runs to maintain some fitness and will try and keep his up until the spring.
Yesterday was very wet and windy as a deep depression moved across Scotland. Today, however, dawned bright and calm so we took the bikes out for a ride. Using the back lanes we've cycled over the summer we headed for Buttermere and ended up at the foot of Honister Pass for lunch. There was an autumnal chill in the air but the sun at times gave some warmth. After a cafe stop in Buttermere we headed home into a slight head wind using mainly different roads. The Fells are looking good at the moment as the Autumn colours continue to take hold.
Heading back down Honister Pass to Buttermere.
On the shore of Buttermere.
Heading for home along Crummock Water.
Lets hope for more weekend days like this through the coming months.
