A weather window
It's another wet and windy evening in Cumbria but I got out today to make the most of a brief weather window. I set off early from Seathwaite, Borrowdale and climbed Green Gable before heading out to Kirk Fell then back to Great Gable. The skies were overcast but there were good views of Borrowdale, Buttermere, Ennerdale and Wasdale as well as the central, western and northern fells. On the top of Great Gable rain set in but by the time I'd dropped down to Styhead it had stopped and it remained dry all the way back to the car.

The 6 week summer break is nearly over. The weather in Cumbria and Scotland has been disappointing with no long periods of settled weather but we've made the most of it and have had some grand days out.
