Keswick and back.

Have managed 3 short after work cycles this week but wanted to do a few more miles today so we headed for Keswick. Our outward route took us along back roads through Branthwaite, Dean, Pardshaw, Bradlingill, Wythop Mill, Braithwaite and Portinscale. The sky cleared as we headed east but a stiff head wind kept us cool and made riding quite hard work.
A cafe stop, at the Theatre by the Lake, and a wander round Keswick gave us an hours rest before we headed back. This time we rode around Bassenthwaite Lake to the Castle Inn before turning west for Cockermouth, Brigham, Broughton Cross and home. The wind had changed direction, as it often seems to do, and again we had a head wind for most of the ride.
