Buttermere Cycle.

Out on the bikes from home today. Rode to Buttermere via Branthwaite, Dean, Pardshaw, Brandlingill and Lorton. The weather was dry but changeable due to a brisk south westerly wind and the higher fells were shrouded in cloud. Disappointingly both cafes in the village were closed so it was just turn around and head home. Susan had an alarming clunking noise coming from her left pedal by this stage but could only keep going in the hope that it would be OK. The run back through Thackthwaite, Lorton, Eaglesfield, Greysouthen and Bridgefoot was hard work due to a blustery head wind but, much to our relief, the pedal lasted out and didn't spoil an enjoyable ride.
