A week in Lochaber.

We left Cumbria and travelled north on a grey overcast day heading for our rented Lodge just outside Spean Bridge at Achaneich. The thermometer hovered around 3°C for most of the journey and as we drove beyond Callander more snow and ice became visible on the hills. It was, however, clear that a slow thaw had set in.
We arrived at the Lodge at around 3pm having popped into the OMC Hut in Crianlarich to see Gavin and Christine on an An Teallach Mountaineering Club meet. The Lodge is a very comfortable base for the week.
